Some people don’t believe in dreams, but I do. For yrs I kept dreaming of a tall husky dark haired man with glasses. For some reason I was always sitting on the side of my bed crying with this mans arms around me, comforting me. Never could see his face though. I kept having this dream even when I had married the first time. I had to divorce because of abuse and cheating. I thought that I would always be alone for the rest of my life. I just needed someone to love me for who I was instead of using me for different reasons. I was on dialysis for 3 1/2 yrs and in that time I use to listen to the radio. I called in to request a song for all of us lonely girls. In turn, some man called in to request a song for me. Told me that there is someone out there waiting on me. After my divorce I received an e-mail from a woman looking for someone for her brother. Needless to say we talked on the phone and finally met in person. We really didn’t hit it off at first. We hardly talked. He barely touched my hand and I jumped. I wanted to leave, but a voice kept telling me to ask him if he wanted to go to the park. I finally did. We went for a walk and stopped under the bridge. He asked me if he could hug me. When he did, I melted. I’ve never felt this calm and this relaxed around any man in my life. This was October 2005 and on Feb. 14, 2006, he asked me to marry him. That dream I kept having… suddenly stopped after I met him. Never had that dream ever again. I even found out that he was the very same guy that requested a song to me… telling me that there is someone out there waiting on me. It was he that was waiting on me. A year later he asked me to move in with him. Took me a year to do so but I finally moved in. We’ve been together ever since. We are wanting to be married but with me having a Kidney Transplant and being on disability, we just can’t do it. If I loose my medical benefits, I would not be able to afford the cost of my medicines let alone the doctors office visits. But I still believe he is the one for me. He is my knight in shinning armor.
I never believed in love story’s or happy-endings, but I know I found mine. My fiance and I did not have a very “normal” relationship, and we are young. But from the first moment I met him, I knew that he is my soulmate. We met in an online chatroom. Very unconventional, but we clicked right away. We started talking on instant messengers and then started using webcam. He lives in Pennsylvania and at the time, I lived in Georgia. We talked on the phone when we got the chance, but more often than not, we just talked via webcam and instant messaging. For three months we talked and got know each other better over the internet and last July he asked me to make a visit to Pennsylvania. I gathered up the money and made a trip from Georgia to Pennsylavania, via Greyhound. I was nervous the whole entire trip. When we first saw each other in person, it was magical. I already began dreading the day I had to leave. His parents and I clicked right away, and even his extended family began to like me. He ended up asking his parents if they minded if I moved in with them, and they gave their consent, so after a week of what was supposed to be a visit, I moved in with him. I got a job and helped his family by supporting myself, and I applied to Penn State University, was accepted, and am now a full-time student, working part-time in the cafe on campus. Three weeks ago he officially proposed to me at a family friend’s house, and I already call his mother my mother-in-law. My parents get along well with him, after they moved their minds around the fact that I moved to Pennsylvania. Everyone has been so supportive of our relationship, and I am so happy to have him! I want to spend my life with him, and I am so happy that I had an open mind about the online world. I would love to be able to capture our big day in print, so that we can always go back and remember our wedding day!
